What you need to remember is that you will be making the eczema symptoms worse if continue to scratch it. You may make the inflammation worse and you can even cause the skin to crack. This may result in an infection that will also need to be treated. It is important to keep your fingernails cut back so that you are not able to scratch at it and make the redness worse.
Other signs and symptoms of eczema may be dry or flaky skin. You may even begin to notice blisters on your skin. These things should be a red flag to you that you may be suffering from eczema and you need to get treatment. You will then want to talk to your doctor or notify a dermatologist for an appointment so that you can determine what steps you need to take in order to get relief from this condition.

This is the safe thing to do in order to ensure that you are not taking something that can harm you or interact with other prescription medications that you are taking.
