New Year, New You: Your Guide to Younger Looking Skin

It’s not too late for you to begin reversing the effects of aging. As a part of our New Year, New You series, we look at some simple steps you can take to reduce the signs of aging.

Clean Your Face At Night

Your evening skincare routine defines the success or failure of your anti-aging efforts. Regardless of age, washing the face at night is important. Removing bateria, debris and makeup helps fight off breakouts. However, cleansing also creates a clean slate for your anti-aging product. This allows it to absorb fully into the skin throughout the night.

Wear Sunscreen

Did you know just 10 minutes a day in the sun can lead to wrinkles? Getting younger skin starts with protection. Use a daily sunscreen to keep your skin tight and free from UVA damage. Look for skincare products that feature SPF 30. If yours does not, include it as a separate treatment in your morning regimine.

Eat Omega 3s

Keep the skin firm and supple with omega-3s found in flaxseed, salmon and almonds. In addition to anti-aging benefits, you will feel a variety of other health benefits thorughout your mind and body. If you are not interested in incorporating omega-3 foods naturally into your body, consider taking a supplement to receive the same type of benefits.

Manage Stress

Stress causes a vast array of issues with your overall health. Aging skin is high on that list. A simple way to reduce the appearance of aging skin is to simply find ways to relax. Notice how your facial muscles tense during stressful times. You can create wrinkles by simply tensing these muscles on a regular basis.

Relax, breathe and take a moment to be mindful of calming things, even during stressful situations.

Out of all of these things, stress is likely one of the biggest causes of aging. Comment below with ways you plan to reduce stress in 2014:
