Winter is finally over and spring is here at last. The time has come to ditch the heavy clothes and boots and dig out the lighter clothes and sandals.
The same should be said for your skin care routine; isn’t it about time it had a spring clean? Especially as seasonal changes cause havoc with your complexion.
You may be experiencing sudden break-outs, flaky skin, or redness of the skin, in which case you need to look at your skin care routine and how you can change it to complement the new season.
Using heavy face creams that may have been appropriate in the winter months (and may now be causing your break-outs) should be replaced with a lighter cream that is suitable for your skin type and one that helps ease your problem skin, whether that be eczema, rosacea, dermatitis or acne.
It’s also a good idea to check the ingredients on your face cream; do they contain chemicals that you’ve never heard of? If so then you really shouldn’t be putting these on your face. Choose only natural products that don’t contain any harmful ingredients.
Spring is the perfect time for a facial, a small luxury that your skin will thank you for. Your beautician will be able to tell immediately what your skin type is and if you have sensitive skin, they will then be able to offer the correct facial for your skin type.
A facial is such a great way to clear clogged pores and remove any dead skin.
Whether or not the weather is cold or warm, your daily moisturizer should always contain an SPF 15 or higher to protect your skin from the harmful rays. If for some reason your moisturizer doesn’t contain an SPF then it’s time to purchase one that does. Making sure that your skin is protected from UVB and UVA rays is important in the fight against premature ageing and especially harmful skin conditions.
Have you looked in your make-up bag lately and had a good clear out?
Contrary to what most people say make-up doesn’t last for years and years. Each item does have an expiration date. If you continue to use items out of your make-up bag they expired years ago then they can cause many problems for your skin and if you have problem skin then this can make matters worse for you.
Mascara has a three month life span
Foundations generally up to 18 months
Lip and eye pencils up to three years
Spring cleaning your skin care routine will keep you looking and feeling radiant for the warmer and brighter months to come.
