The Shocking Truth About Honey Cinnamon Face Masks

While doing some research for natural acne face masks, I kept coming across a popular honey & cinnamon mask and gave it a try. Given some of our audience here at the ZENMED blog suffers with sensitive skin and acne, I wanted to share my experience with you.

A Look at the Mask

Inspiration for the mask came from the following video:

Ingredients:
3 tbsp of honey
1 tbsp of cinnamon

Trying It Out

So, I went up to my kitchen and grabbed the ingredients I needed.

I followed all the directions presented in the video and lathered the mixture onto my face.

Then I waited.

I was directed to wait 10 minutes before rinsing the mask.

That didn’t happen. I had the mask on 3 minutes, tops.

Why?

Because my face was burning with the fury of 10,000 suns.

It hurt. So bad. I’ve never tried to get something off my face so quickly.

Here’s how my face looked after I rinsed it off:

And the kicker? I don’t have very sensitive skin.

Key Takeaways

If you have sensitive skin, don’t try this at home. There are other natural acne solutions available. Burning your face off is not a good solution. Ever.

Now, there are plenty of skin benefits related to cinnamon. And perhaps a better ratio of cinnamon to honey would work better. (In fact, the video description says to try 1tsp of cinnamon for sensitive skin.) But is it worth the risk? That’s something you need to decide for yourself.

If it were me? I’d stick with my ZENMED acne treatment that never makes me look like a lobster.

But that’s just me. 😉
