Well – today is my birthday! Yup, I am 33 years old. That may sound either very old or very young depending on how old you are. I feel that it’s a great age and I feel good about everything I’ve done and what I plan to do.
One thing that makes me happy is that most people are shocked to find out I’m in my 30’s. Most people seem to peg my age at being around 27 or so. I feel that this is mainly because I do take good care of myself – especially my skin.
Being a fair skinned blonde I learned at a very young age that if I go outside even for a few minutes without sunscreen – I will burn! This unfortunately resulted in a few bad sunburns as a child – and as a naïve teenager. But once I reached my 20’s I devoted myself to covering any exposed skin with sunscreen each and every day – rain or shine. I feel that this is the main reason why I have no wrinkles and still look quite young. I have friends my age that spent their 20’s tanning in the sun or in tanning beds and they mocked me because I was always so pale compared to them. Well – now I have no lines or wrinkles while they are really starting to show their age with deep crinkles around their eyes and forehead. I am noticing the same lines and crinkles on my smoker friends now too!
I also make sure to take my makeup off every single night and keep up a good skincare routine – adjusting it as necessary when the seasons change to make sure I don’t get too dry or oily. I’ve got to throw in a plug for the ZENMED AHA/BHA Complex – that product changed my life! I love the way it makes my skin feel in all seasons! I also swear by the ZENMED Nutrient Boost Spray because I do get quite flushed sometimes being so pale and this helps to take it away – or sometimes I simply use it to freshen up my makeup.
As I admitted in my last post – my eating habits have gone a bit askew in the last few months but other than a few relapses like this one, I do try to keep up with eating fairly healthy because I feel that it not only contributes to my skin looking good but I notice a huge difference in my energy levels and the way my body feels too.
If you are in your 20’s, trust me – this is the time to make some changes so you can stay younger looking longer. Even if you are starting to show your age, a few changes in your diet and skincare can stop – and maybe even turn back – the clock, and you’ll notice how great you look and feel!
