Why do I have body acne?
Body acne can appear on the back, upper arms and the buttocks and can take several grades of severity anything from minor pimples to more painful cysts, forming deep under the skin’s surface. The most common form of body acne exists on the upper back.
Causes of back acne?
Most experts agree that back acne starts to occur around puberty when the sebaceous glands, which produce sebum, start functioning. When an excess of sebum is produced, pores and hair follicles can become clogged, attracting bacteria. This is also a time when hormones are being produced in greater numbers causes in men a excess of testosterone which is a major trigger of body acne.
Stress, sweating and even genetics are causes of back acne. While there is no proof back acne is developed from tight clothing, excessive sweating it is more then likely to invigorate this form of acne.
